FRINGE!!!
Are you watching? I watched both episodes last night and I have to say I am LOVING this show.
If you haven't started watching it, I highly recommend it!

The state of television viewing is pretty bad when one finds herself watching a TV movie on A&E (Andromeda Strain) and The Bachelorette (and I thought the women were pathetic).
I haven't had much to say about it this year. There really isn't much charisma in the cast and frankly, that's what typically makes the show. Am I right?
This used to be must see TV for me and now I catch it when I catch it (with the help of the magic of DVR). In fact, I think I missed last week when the crazy ethereal lady got kicked off.
No.
Now I remember that I did see it. Which, frankly, speaks volumes about this season.
Last night, however, was mildly amusing. Christian - he of asymmetrical hairstyle - was forced to work on a prom dress with a wee diva and he did not take to the challenge well at all. He exhibited enormous levels of vulnerability and immaturity and yet, for the first time, I took a liking to him. I mean, the man is an effing brat and a catty bitch to boot -- so I want to delight in his stumbles but his weakness endeared him to me. Kind of like someone else who exhibited levels of vulnerability earlier this week...
Moving on.
Ricky. Oh, Ricky. He of bad hats and limited talent. Weeping. Always with the weeping and novenas to mama. Oh, PR producers - how cruelly you edit. Cut to crying Ricky waxing on about how life changing winning PR would be to him and his familia knowing full well he doesn't have the talent to win.
The dress was executed poorly. I'm beginning to think you can't sew. Learn the importance of color. Wash a girl out and no one will even notice what she is wearing.
Speaking of color - what's with all the green. Frankly, I LOVED Rami's dress. I was also seeking that level of glamour and sophistication when I was dressing for the prom. Of course, it would have behooved me to dress a little more age appropriate. Then again, my trampy prom photos are always good for a laugh. And while we are on the subject - I also could have benefited from a good eyebrow waxing. Waiting until I was twenty before liberating those catapillers...
Anyway, back to those greens. I'm all about green but those greens did nothing for me. Chris's dress was well done but when his model walked down the runway she looked as if she had just emerged from her prom night limo after rolling around with her date. What was with her hair? It was a mess.
I really liked Victoria's dress. It was young and so fresh. It was very Blake Lively ala Gossip Girls. Victoria on the other hand. That woman is completely void of character. COLD. Ice COLD. And she always seems to get a lot of help on her designs. No one seems to be calling her on it (as far as we know) but I did see when she an Sweet Pea walked backstage, Sweat Pea gave her a congratulatory hug/shoulder squeeze and Victoria harshly removed said hand from her shoulder. Ice cold, indeed.
Lastly, as you might remember (I think I mentioned it here), my sister was selected to be a PR model but had to turn it down due to the rigorous shooting schedule combined with other commitments. Never have my friends and I been in such an uproar as when she turned it down. Additionally, she walked for Malan Breton during Fashion Week last Spring and was paid in trade. On NYE she wore Malan's dress to a party and I thought I would share for all of you PR fans out there. I'll spare you the "find her a man" pitch.
Cute, right?

I'm having sympathy pains in my teeth because of this kid...
At first glance, it appears that Alex has one adult tooth among baby teeth and spaces where baby teeth have fallen out.
The thing is, that front adult tooth seems so abnormally long. And this has led me to become obsessed. Which made my teeth hurt.
Then I try to rationalize how a young boy can be so long in the tooth.
Literally.
I'm bewitched, bothered and bewildered by this tooth.
I need help.
Attention Wire Fans: Amazon has Season Four available for pre-order for $38.99. HBO is set to start playing Season Four onDemand around the same time as the DVD release. This would be great for most people, however, Ted and I need to have the DVDs on hand so that we can watch 15 straight hours of television. We are crazy fun!
Dearest Friend Kit,
It's on. Oh, yes. It's on.
How you can like this woman is completely beyond me. It has long been my belief that you are a brilliant woman of exquisite taste, great humor and charm. That is until you left these fighting words on my blog.
"Don't ever badmouth Laura from Project Runway again. I love that woman. She's my favorite, although Michael is a close runner-up. "
She is EVIL! She can't make a dress that deviates from the last from week to week. She told Michael Kors and his mother that she is pregnant before she even told her husband. Who does that? She. Just. Plain. SUCKS!
This look should not be utilized by ANYONE. Yes, a pregnant belly is beautiful and all that (And I probably find more beauty in her pregnancy given evil Laura's comments on the impending birth of her sixth son) but please keep the knot below the exposed skin while you make your next Ann Taylor creation.
And if you think I'm being catty, watch Laura for five minutes as she plays the "underminer". She consistently walks around from workstation to workstation undermining everyone's creative choices while she sews her Buttermilk patterns.
I guess I shouldn't be so worked up. Bitch will be auf'd this week for sure.
MICHAEL RULZ!
Love and Loyally,
L
*From the delightful South Park Season 8 episode "You got F'd in the A".
Both of my loves...Hugh Laurie and Ian McShane have been nominated for an Emmy Award in the best actor in a drama series category.
Hugh is on Access Hollywood. His British accent is so cute and those of you who know me know that I am NOT a fool for the accents but he is so damn fine. Sadly, he loves his wife and sadly I love Ted. Kidding.
Also, as a complete aside...Owen Wilson is making the talk show rounds. I am a huge Wes Anderson fan and therefore love the Wilson's for the contributions to these films. Having said that...I can't look at him without thinking of "Butterscotch Stallion".
*sigh*
Yes. I am five. I still have crushes on actors. My top three -- Colin Firth, Hugh Laurie (who comes close to taking the lead from Colin), and third place tie between Ian McShane and George Clooney.
House was so good last night. Sela Ward is gorgeous and whomever writes her contracts should be given a raise...the clause she has about her lighting...now that it seems she will be on the show next season...I can imagine it is going to be a major bitch to keep her lit like that.
No matter. I just don't know what I will do without my Hugh for the next four/five months.
*sigh*
I suppose I got a thing for the old guys. But I think the real defining characteristic is the fact that these guys typically play a'holes with a glimmer of something more.
Yes, even in fantasy I am a sucker.
Funny.
But sad. Definitely v. sad.
