Perpetual State of Flux |
After nearly 35 years into this life, I'm determined to change my point of view. Of course, this might be the direct result of these pregnancy hormones. These are the stories and observations of a recovering cynic. Just remember, I never said I was cured. |
Reading was one of my favorite ways to pass time as a child and I’m convinced it is the reason for my *cough* colorful imagination. A few years ago, I attended a baby shower where the hostess asked the guests to bring a book with them to the shower with the hope of building a small library of books for the baby. I loved this idea and hoped to incorporate this idea into my baby shower when the day arrived.
My shower is this weekend and I’ve started to receive a few gifts from friends who are unable to make the trip to NYC. With each book I receive, I sit down and read it to the baby.
We received this book from my mother yesterday and found myself fighting back tears with each page.
It appears I’ve hit another weepy stage. The recovering cynic is mortified. The mommy loves the schmaltz.
